Valencia-based startup Linkener, which builds energy management software for businesses, has closed a 7.5 M€ funding round led by Klima Energy Transition Fund, Alantra’s energy transition fund. Existing shareholder GoHub Ventures stays on the cap table. The deal, announced on 19 October, ranks among the largest Spanish startup rounds of October 2026 according to Startup Riders.

At a glance

  • The round: 7.5 M€ led by Klima Energy Transition Fund (Alantra), with GoHub Ventures remaining a shareholder.
  • The company: energy management platform with its own metering and AI; over 2,000 clients and 10,000 supply points in Spain.
  • Use of funds: building its technology and proprietary AI models, and growing organically and through acquisitions.

What happened

Linkener raises 7.5 M€ in a round led by Klima, an energy transition fund managed by Alantra. According to Demócrata, GoHub Ventures remains a shareholder. The company has not disclosed the formal stage of the round or its valuation.

Klima closed its first fund in 2022 with 210 M€ in commitments, sponsored by Alantra and Enagás, with the European Investment Fund among its backers.

What Linkener does

Put simply, Linkener helps companies understand how much energy they use, what they pay for it and where they can save. Its Smart Energy Management System (SIGE) combines proprietary metering, automatic invoice validation, supply-point analysis, anomaly alerts and savings recommendations. The platform includes an AI agent, Link·IA, and an in-house engineering team carries out the savings measures.

The company is headquartered in Valencia, at the GoHub space, and is led by CEO José Ignacio Ruiz. Speaking to Ecosistema Startup, Ruiz argues that energy management is still stuck in decades-old practices and that relying only on the monthly bill gives an incomplete picture.

Traction and figures

  • More than 2,000 clients, from freelancers to large companies.
  • Around 10,000 supply points under management.
  • 1.7 TWh managed per year, roughly the annual consumption of a city of 400,000 people, per the company.

What the money is for

Linkener will use the funds to accelerate its technology and proprietary AI models for energy management, and to grow both organically and by acquiring products and companies that complement its offering. Klima partner Iñigo Echániz describes the sector as highly fragmented with strong digitalisation potential, which points to a consolidation play.

Why it matters for the ecosystem

The round shows climate-focused capital backing B2B software with recurring revenue and real customers, not just generation assets. It also strengthens Valencia as a hub for energy startups. For businesses, energy efficiency has moved from a sustainability topic to a cost line managed with data.
